Proceedings and evidence (no report made) of the Committee appointed in response to the Methodists' appeal for investigation of the affairs of the University of Toronto and of University College. It was charged that these institutions had absorbed funds designed by the University of Toronto Act of 1853, for other institutions of higher education also, including the Methodists' Victoria College. It was charged that they had wasted these funds and lowered educational standards in the province.
The evidence of Egerton Ryerson supporting the Petition and of John Langton and Daniel Wilson defending the University were also published separately, q.v.
